Where the rain forest meets the sea
Thank you! the place is beautiful & we loved the hike to the Lighthouse.
It's about our eighth time here and this stay has been for 8 nights of peace, beautiful views, wildlife and always enchanting surrounds. It all makes it very. very hard to leave. In short, we absolutely love it here.
This was a very peaceful & relaxing graduation gift.. we woke up to a beautiful sunrise & enjoyed coffee on the deck in the warmth of the sun. Next time we come it definitely be for a longer visit.
You have done an exquisite job in building, decorating & landscaping! The Hot tub was an unexpected boon.. thanks!
Great setting for a birthday retreat. I particularly appreciated the equipment, supplies, milk, good selection of teas, every little thing thought of.. including the trail guide to the Juan de Fuca Trail... thanks for the care ...

The privacy, view, & comfortable surroundings were just what we were looking for to unwind and relax. We got some terrific shots & video footage of the two deer that seem to enjoy hanging about. they must be comfortable here.. thanks again
lst time here for our Honeymoon escape... very relaxing. It's wonderful what you have created here.. We loved sitting in the Hot tub listening to the waves.. usually an hour before firing up the grill to prepare our homemade dinner! Everything was just what it needed to be for us and we can't wait to experience your hospitaltiy once again! Thank you and Bless this wonderful place!
Your hideaway is perfect... we loved the quiet, beautiful surroundings. The fishing was also good!

Peaceful, lovely place... my husband and I enjoyed so much! The quire. the re-connection to nature and your artistic touch renewed us. So glad we found this place after our long trip from Florida. We had a wonderful stay here at the Starboard Cottage, a relaxing spot after a day of beach combing, whale watching and hiking. Thanks for the restaurant recommendations at Point no Point ..We can't wait to come back for a winter storm.

COWABUNGA! My entire being is so relaxed. the "Spa" was unbeatable. ... We ate at Point no Point, food & service excellent, view unparalled. Coming back here was truly better than coming home. The perfect, peaceful place to embrace jet lag (asleep by 9 and up by 5) .We watched 2 beautiful sunrises from the incredible comfort of the giant bed with cushions perfect to lean against.. Everything is just right.. thanks!

Growing up half the time in Jordan River & the other half in Metchosin I have to say that I was absolutely in love with the West Coast here....... been so busy with work & school that it was just what we needed to .. have some sockeye salmon, drink some champagne & totally forget about city life! Wow. the most beautiful thing happened as I just looked up from writing this & in front of us was the end of the rainbow. Gorgeous... How lucky we are to live at this end of the earth!!

Serenity, solitude & surprises! welcome surprises... thank you for your hospitality ... truly a surprise above & beyond... & yes, this was a taste of heaven in the physical sense but also in the spiritual sense as well....we got attached to the red breasted sap-sucker who took the role of our morning wake up call.. a humorous start to the day.. we love to garden & your landscaping was another welcome treat... the cheerful yellow pansies, the tall grasses & everything green.. we leave, regretfully, but with joy in our hearts & a bounce in our steps!!
What a beautiful charming place! So nice to know we can come to a peaceful, relaxing get-away and only 1 hour drive from home! the added touches... are a great bonus...we will definitely want to come again.

My wife and I often dreamed of a place... it would be a little cottage overlooking the sea... the cottage would be amongst tall mature trees.. it would have a cozy porch with comfortable chairs & even a hammock.. the entire front would have windows inside a great big bed.... it would face the sea so we could lay in bed and enjoy the beauty... a big comfortable couch where we could watch the ships sail by...it would be heaven on earth...we found it at Orveas Bay ..thank you June & Ron for building "heaven on earth" with 1/3 wood & mortar & 2/3 love and caring.
We think this is a Paradise that June & Ron created just for us! Ron told us about the trails and good places to see .. June's decorated cottage helped make our stay delightful... Great job June! We saw the black bear our first night....the view is peaceful.. the ocean so beautiful.. I wish we could bottle it and take it home... we will remember our stay until we are able to come again... thanks so much for your kindness.
We've had a lovely time away from the city in your cozy cabin.. your special guest touches.... the jacuzzi overlooking the Pacific.. afternoon hammock... the fun walk to a dramatic beach.. BBQ chez'Starboard Cottage!

On each farm in Norway lives a Tomten.. a small little elf who takes care of the animals. the lands and the humans. People never see him but they always know that he's been there... Ron was our Tomten.. signs of his care are everywhere.. happy white doves...immaculate surroundings.. to June & Ron our Yule Tomtens.. this will be a Christmas we will treasure always. You have made a beautiful retreat on this Paradise Island.

The West Coast has a unique haunting magic that cannot be found anywhere else...the spirits of the Coast Salish People are strongly visible at the Lighthouse.. T"Sooke and everywhere one steps one can imagine this land as it must have been.. unspoilt and pristine.. may we all continue to cherish and preserve it with minimal impact and much respect.

Orveas Bay was an excellent choice for our honeymoon! the view is breathtaking, the cottage is superb...we throughly enjoyed our stay and we do not want to leave... during our time here ..we explored the coast from French Beach to Botanical Beach.. all were amazing.. we saw many seals, 2 deer, a rabbit, a black bear and heard many noises in the bush!.. it certainly has been a wonderful honeymoon, hope to return for anniversaries.
This has been a wonderful experience.. the quite and beauty was just what we needed.. you have a beautiful place.. Thank you for creating such a great place...wish we could stay longer.
Thank you for a wonderful 3 days... this was the perfect place to greet each morning... and equally ideal as a destination place each evening after the day's activities (especially after a trek on the Galloping Goose Trail)... we're having a bit of a hard time leaving this beautiful place... but hope to come back some time.

Since you are here, you don't need to be told that this cottage is heavenly... we have enjoyed every detail of Orveas Bay... our favorite hike was Mystic Beach Trail... you pick it up at China Beach Trail .. it is the beginning of the Juan de Fuca Trail... very short.. about 45 mins each way to and from the beach.. these are our recommendations from the Florida based trio of Travellers
Thank you so much for letting us stay here! We had a good time... went fishing and caught lots of fish, including sharks!the beach was very beautiful and we are bringing lots of shells home with us .. the hammock was really relaxing.
What a wonderful place to be able to spend the last 2 days on the island at your beautiful place.... I wish we could stay longer... my day alone while the others went fishing will not be forgotten. I loved it and felt so special. I was able to get a long walk on the beach, catch up on rest.. relaxation & reading .. all of your attention to details was greatly appreciated.

We really hate to leave this comfy cabin and serene setting... we enjoyed the sunsets by the Lighthouse & sunrises from the bed... we hope to return within a year or two and explore more of this beautiful area.. thank you June & Ron for your hospitality.
Our first time on the island was all to brief, but it was sensational by the accommodation and it's setting... we will certainly be recommending to all of our friends. for those coming after us, the walk from Muir Creek back towards here is gorgeous.. there are seals, otters, eagles, and fossils to be seen down there.
We thoroughly enjoyed our cottage and it's surroundings.. sheer luxury everywhere... we have come from halfway through the world to be here and only regret that we live so far away from here as we would love to come back often... thank you for your kind attentions.

We had a wonderful week at Orveas Bay ... I would like to spend even more time M&A in the hot tub. Lounge in the hammock with a great book and explore even more of this marvellous coast ... and most importantly great memories of a family vacation.
We paid to see whales in Seattle, only to find we would have saved our money as we watched them from your own beach ... What a Thrill!
What a great time we had!! Saw an abundance of wild life at our back door ... Deer, Bunnies, squirrels, whales, seals ... it’s a perfect get away.
What is clear from the moment one steps on the property is that a dream and years of commitment and hearts that yearn to express the love of their creation and to share their creativity and beauty.

After my three friends flew 2000 miles ... they deserved the BEST weekend in B.C. ... this spot of wonder was it!! We four women talked, hiked, ate, drank, played and slept in Paradise! ... Our souls renewed and our mind refreshed ... We all shall return!
